About
Hello! Here I want to share my experiences, my knowledge, my mistakes and my learnings – and I hope its useful for you too!

About me
My name is Alexa and I am based in Leipzig (Germany). I work as a software developer and artist. I am 38 years old. Throughout my twenties and thirtees I have lived in many countries (France, Netherlands, Austria, Portugal and the USA), quite unbound and free. As a child, I grew up with two dogs (huskies!!). Later, as an adult with a nomad lifestyle, I started to miss having a dog at my side. Finally, 5 years ago I decided to adopt Lillet from an animal shelter close to Leipzig which cooperated with the biggest animal shelter of the world (Smeura in Romania).
As someone who values freedom, movement and spontaneity, I had to realize that having a dog poses a challenge to these values. It changed the way I move through the world quite drastically! Traveling with a dog comes with different challenges, but also different opportunities. Some doors close, but other doors open more widely. With the right knowledge and tricks you can make the most of it. That’s what this blog is about!
About my dog
My dog Lillet is a 10 year old adopted shelter dog from Romania. I adopted her in 2021 and in the last years she has been traveling with me to many places, most of the time by train.
Lillet is a medium-sized dog. That means I can not pick her up or put her in a carriage. This changes the whole travelling experience: From ticket fees to navigating in general.
I would consider Lillet as a ‘reactive’ dog. She is rather fearful of other people and very jumpy in crowds. I would describe her character as part-time awkward and part-time goofy-adventurous ;-) She’s a marker!
Destinations
I have a special connection with Czech Republic, so most of my content is about this country.
- Germany
- Czech Republic (especially Prague)
But there is more to come!
