That’s what I love so much about having a dog. A dog breaks down social boundaries in a very loving way and connects humans with each other. It’s a door opener. A dog makes us more human.
Some examples:
My dog sniffs on clothes of a fellow traveler in the train or her wet nose comes into contact with a stranger’s leg.
In a restaurant my dog decides to sit down at the neighbors table (see picture)
Children (acting spontaneous and who don’t care about social boundaries yet) might point at the dog, resulting in me sharing a smile with the parents.
Dogs just add a bit of necessary messiness to our regulated lives. These situations can feel awkward, funny or heart-warming, or all at once. I am thankful for that.
